PPC marketing really has came on strong over the last 5 years thanks to the introduction to of adwords by google adsense.
PPC marketing means (pay per click marketing) and is one of the most effective ways to market your blog or website online. Its effectiveness lay in the fact that you only pay when someone clicks you ad, which in turn means that traffic is targeted because they are interested in what you have to offer.
PPC campaigns are easy to set up and all you have to do is sign up write your first campaign & plug in your keywords. Remember to be effective with PPC marketing you want to be specific with your keywords.
For instance lets say you are selling baseball cards. You wouldn't want to just make one small caampaign for the words baseball cards. First off it would be a very competitve keyword as it is to general. Instead I would make several smaller campaigns for specific items. If I was selling Topps 1999 baseball cards I would use that as one of my keywords. You'll get less traffic to your website but you also spend a lot less money in click costs and the traffic is sure to convert better if you send a person to EXACTLY what they are looking for instead of making them search your web site for it.

Many adwords & PPC marketers make the mistake of being entirely to generic with their keywords. This brings them a lot of traffic but again they are spending to much money to advertise it. Eventually many PPC marketers simply get frustrated and quit because they are either losing money or just not making enough product. Instead they should focusd on less traffic but more closely targeted traffic.
When you start a PPC campaign you'll always want to watch it closely for the first few days and make sure your results are converting into sales otherwise you'll need to tweak your campaign slightly.
You can set your advertising to spend only a certain amount per day maximum. So if you wanted to run a campaign and only wanted to spend $5 a day you could & no more than 5 cents a click you could. $5 at 5 cents per click would get you 100 clicks. If you can convert 10% of your clicks into sales that would get you 5 sales. If the item you are selling is $23 thats $115 - $5 (adwords cost) you just made $110, its really that easy but you need to test, test, test to maintain those kind of results.
Once you start seeing reults you can keep everything running pretty much on auto pilot and just check them weekly from there on out. Meanwhile you have money coming in for the work you've done.
